Quiver Trees in Namib-Naukluft National Park

The quiver tree (Aloe dichotoma), locally known as kokerboom, is a species indigenous to the Northern Cape region of South Africa, and parts of Southern Namibia. The name derives from the practice of the indigenous San people, to hollow out its tubular branches in order to form quivers for their arrows.
